New study reveals the most used passwords online; the results highlight some shocking practices.

Other key findings include

--About 30% of users chose passwords whose length is equal or below six characters.

--Moreover, almost 60% of users chose their passwords from a limited set of alpha-numeric characters.

--Nearly 50% of users used names, slang words, dictionary words or trivial passwords (consecutive digits, adjacent keyboard keys, and so on). The most common password among Rockyou.com account owners is “123456”.

New Internet Scam Alert

US health officials on Thursday warned of an Internet scam doing the rounds which says all adults are required to register a personal swine flu vaccination profile with the federal authorities.

The bogus message says that although vaccination against pandemic (A)H1N1 flu is not obligatory, anyone aged 18 or older whether they have had the vaccine or not, is required to create a "personal H1N1 (swine flu) vaccination profile" with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).

If recipients of the scam email try to comply with the message and click on a link it says will take them to the CDC website, they could be at risk of "having malicious code installed on their system," the CDC warned.

"The CDC has NOT implemented a state vaccination program requiring registration on www.cdc.gov," the federal health agency said in a statement.

When the United States launched a swine flu vaccination campaign in October, high demand was met by low supply, and many people were turned away empty-handed from free vaccination clinics.

The head of the CDC, Thomas Frieden, said this week that there are now around 70 million (A)H1N1 vaccine doses available.

In collaboration with Toyota, two artists from Poetic Kinetics have created the mobile Solar Flower Lounge.

These Flower Lounges are for the fast paced and connected modern world, visitors can enjoy the magical offerings of free solar power and Wi-Fi. Each of these lounges has a seating capacity for about 10 people. The solar panels in the flower petals provide charge to the 110V outlets, and the flower head emits a wireless 3G connection.

Also thanks to internal batteries, the Flower Lounge functions at night, with LEDs illuminating the general Flower Lounge area. Toyota is considering sponsoring permanent versions due to the positive public response.

Checkout these fake brands from China. No wonder China is going ahead with all its new brands copying the original ones…but at the same time failing to deliver the same good quality. Only by the phrase “Made In China” makes people believe that the product is a cheap fake and wont last long or will not provide the desired results.

Can you even imagine that the durable and very simple GSM Mobile phone produced by Nokia with a 96x65 monochrome screen can be programmed to receive messages directed to a different phone number, thus receiving sensitive bank or other data. This flaw was brought to authorities' attention after some phones were sold for over US$32,000.

USD 80000 per Song Download

A US woman has been ordered to pay $1.92 million for downloading 24 tracks from the Kazaa file sharing site - $80,000 per song. The original trial awarded over just over $9000 per song in damages to the record companies but instead got awarded close to ten times more in a retrial. The funny thing in this case is the fact that a much lower settlement offer was on the cards but seemingly refused. The mother of four children against whom the penalties have been secured is defiant in saying there is no way she can ever pay that much and that the record companies will have a hard time getting it from her. She downloaded 24 songs from Kazaa.

As ridiculous as this sounds and as wrong as online piracy is, the record labels themselves are not entirely without fault here. The Compact disk is outdated as a music distribution medium in the Internet age. Yes, many online music shops have come of age, but their pricing (we are talking about legal ones here) models are still structured to compete with compact disc and DVD.
